Payen BK450 Head Gasket Set - 1275 (HIF carb)

The Payen BK450 head gasket set is designed specifically for 1275cc Mini engines, featuring an excellent composite reinforced gasket ideal for motorsport applications. This head set is supplied with HIF carb gaskets only. It includes:

• BK450 head gasket
• Inlet/exhaust manifold gasket
• Rocker cover gasket
• Heater valve gasket
• 2 x thermostat gaskets
• HIF carb to manifold gasket
• HIF to air cleaner gasket
• 8 x valve stem seals

This is the ultimate standard gasket set for 1275cc engines, containing the black type production head gasket used by Rover. For a complete engine conversion, use GEG202, and for transmission, use AJM804B.

Recommended when Fitting:

1.    Check the cylinder head and block surfaces are flat, ensuring both surfaces are clean.

2.    Install studs into cylinder block and lubricate the threads.

3.    Install the new gasket over the studs, onto the block

4.    Install the head and rocker assembly, check clearances for fouling.

5.    Tighten each head nut in the correct sequence incrementally 5 foot-pounds at a time, up to 45 foot-pounds total, and triple-check all are at the correct torque. 

6.    Check valve clearances using feeler gauges.

7.    Start engine without coolant for 2-3 minutes.

8.    Leave to cool down for around 1 hour.

9.    Fill with coolant.

10.  Re-check torque settings on the head nuts.

11.  Restart engine.
